"...just after a couple spares for my No1's..." That won't matter. You can't just change the bolt head on a No. 1 without using headspace guages.

"...likely an arsenal rebuild..." Possibly, but there's no way of knowing for sure. Mind you, I'd suspect it is an arsenal rebuild that somebody re-did the metal finish. Looks kind of newish in your picture. It's at least a high S/N RI. Work up a load and go shooting.

"...to defend themselves against mounted troops..." Which is why you poke the horse. Or whack it across the nose with the butt.

The secondary purpose of there ever being a bayonet in the first place. Replaced the PBI's sword and kept them as pikemen.

Start by checking the headspace. Then slug the bore. Hammer a cast .30 calibre bullet through the barrel and measure it with a micrometer. Enfield barrels can measure from .311" to .315" and still be considered ok. Then use a bullet that's as close to the bore diameter as possible. IMR3031...

Can't say as I've ever seen anything about glass bedding a Krag. Even for a bubba'd rifle. You could try the NRA's Gunsmithing guides though. I'd be looking for an old one.

"...general issue..." Officers were and are required to purchase their sword. Swords don't and didn't get issued. Wilkinson still makes the 1912 pattern for dress occasions. They run around 2 grand, USD, I think for a new one. Cavalry troopies were issued the same sword but without the eng...

Please shut off your caps lock.

"...A STOCK BLOT BRACE..." If you mean a screw driver to get the butt stock off, use a regular 12" screwdriver. There may be a washer in the hole that needs to come out too. Any device with a wee hook on it will do it.

"...No rifle was ever marked 1903A4..." Rumour has it that there were a few. Very few if said rumour is correct.

"...rebarreled by a subsequent owner to make a good shooter..." Possibly, but it drops the value in half. Makes it a bubba'd '03A4.
