R. Lee Ermey

Sadly, "The Gunny", R. Lee Ermey died last Saturday at age 74. Probably best remembered as the Marine Drill Instructor in the movie "Full Metal Jacket", he was in so many other roles, too. One of my favorites was a tv series he hosted called "Mail Call" that ran from '...

Just realized that last Monday was my anniversary date here on MAH, hard to believe I have been around here for 14 years..... Luckily, this is a fun place, have been on a few sites where things can get ugly real quick, so I just don't go there anymore. Thank you Robert for keeping this a go...

Re: Range day

According to 7.62x54r.net yellow tip is lead core heavy ball and silver tip is steel core light ball. Yellow tip being Hungarian machine gun ammo wasn't mentioned, but yellow tip was made by Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria, too. Beside the Czechs, Russia and Poland also made the silver tip light ball. ...

Re: The US M7 bayonet for the M16 rifle

I bought an aftermarket one, even though it says "Colt" on the other side of the blade, it is obviously a made in China wanna-be. The scabbard is all black like the bayonet. At the time I couldn't find a reasonably priced real one like yours, maybe I'll look again. Where did you find it? ...

Re: Range day

That yellow tip you were shooting is the heavy ball from Hungary, Bulgaria, or Czechoslovakia. Yellow tip is 182 grain, you need some light ball that is 148 grain, easier on the shoulder. And if you can find it, the Czechoslovakian hollow core white tip training ammo is only 45 grain, and they clai...

But the American Indians haven't attacked, blown up, and killed any of the "white folks". Maybe if they did it would cause similar retaliations, but that's a whole different set of "what ifs". IMHO if we stopped sending arms to Israel, the Arabs would attack and when the US furn...

Re: M1907 Paraguay Mauser

There are actually a lot of places that have the 7.65 Argy for sale, although none of it is cheap. I got several hundred rounds from my go-to ammo place, SG Ammo, and they are the cheapest. But if you only get a small amount, the shipping kills you. At Target Sports, free shipping if you buy 500 ro...

Re: Anybody sell anything on Gun Broker?

I have bought ammo online at several places and only one wanted a Driver's license, the rest
just ship it after you check the box that you are at least 18.
That is another thing, online ammo sales, that the gun banners want stopped.......

Re: Anybody sell anything on Gun Broker?

Not really surprised about the driver's license, one of the online ammo sellers won't sell to anyone without a copy of your driver's license, don't remember which one. But the utility bill, that's a new one on me. Maybe with the way things are going about guns in this country, Gunbroker is circling...
