Enfield Mk VI 1926 .455 converted to .45 ACP/AR

I just acquired this gun recently and I was wondering besides the different markings are there any parts that will not interchange with a Webley Mk VI or are they the same gun as here in the US when Colt had to let the Springfield Armory make 1911s in WWI?

Re: Palm Trees and Brittany Spaniels in deep snow

Too bad as you could have some awesome palms that would look great with the other plants in your yard.

Re: Railways

Strange how the year c. 1960 comes up as the end of the age of steam for most of the developed parts of the English speaking world. The last steam engines running in the USA were here in Virginia-Norfolk Southern? in 1961. I guess the cheap price of oil for the diesels just made too much sense along...

Re: Railways

My uncle is a huge train buff and one thing that always struck him was how huge American trains were compared to British/European trains. I guess it is a function of space, size of the cars, loads and distance to cover. When I was in Britain years ago we saw the "Mallard" or "Green Ma...

Re: Palm Trees and Brittany Spaniels in deep snow

Niner: Besides the sago, have you thought about planting any other palms? They would be a cinch in your area.

Niner:

Very nice yard that is just begging to have a few hardy palms planted in it. Man, I wish I could get those bags of leaves to use in my planting beds! Too bad you live so far away as I would pick them up.

Palm Trees and Brittany Spaniels in deep snow

This is my garden in February 2010 with my 2 Brittany Spaniels Winston (large one named after the PM) and Teddy (smaller one named after the POTUS) romping in the snow amongst the cold hardy palms and Eucalyptus. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JjpylAbIxk Here is the same garden in September 2010 an...

Re: Cypress trees with moss and palmettos

Niner: The British Isles are believe it or not, mild enough to be able to grow several kinds of palm trees, including the Pindo or Jelly Palm, Windmill Palm, Med Fan Palm, Canary Island Date Palm and the Chilean Wine Palm. I saw several there when I went on a college exchange program and would never...

Re: Growing Cold Hardy Palms and Tropicals

Niner: Live Oaks up here keep about 60-70% of their leaves through the winter and now they are getting ready to drop them so I will either mow or rake them up and put them in the compost pile. For some reason, palms, sagos and other hardy tropical plants like oak leaf mulch/mould probably because th...

Re: Up there in Canada . . .

We Americans could have told them this wouldn't work, they need more guns in the hands of the law abiding public which has proven on my side of the border to keep crime low. In Virginia we are even going to try to get Constitutional carry passed whcih means NO CCW needed just like it isn't for open ...
