S-R 1889 worth?

Hi All, It looks like I will have to reduce the numbers in my collection as I am moving and in the new location I am having storage space problems. There is no where to fit all my cabinets. So I am looking at what I can move on easily and my Canton marked (StG)M1889 looks a likely candidate, has the...

Re: P-14 questions

Hi All, Gunparts had piling swivels, I brought one a little while ago for my Winchester P-14. The E marked parts are form the Eddystone plant, I am also looking out for a rear volley sight<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :o --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/embarassed.gif ALT=":o&quo...

Re: LITHGOW - Sporter - Questions from a Newbie

Hi All, P-H did make side mount which required the left side wall of the reciever to be drilled and tapped, they also made one for the No1 rifle which fitted to the charger bridge and top of the reciever ring which also was a D&T job. I have not seen any about for a while though<!--EZCODE EMOTIC...

Re: JC to the UK.

Hi feedbackboy, Hmm the No4T is a bit of a sore point :( I am still awaiting it's refitting and bedding :o as I have never been as fond of the No4 as the No1 and earlier rifles, it's just possible it may be sold off, after all I have a rather nice (to shiney though) P-14 which I have yet to shoot, p...

Re: Top O' The Comb

Hi All, Well thank you that explains the #7 stamped in my 1889's butt comb, I knew the rifle was from St gallen as it's actually marked StG:- [pic]http://pic3.picturetrail.com/VOL14/134492/2339140/28301569.jpg"/><!--EZCODE IMAGE END--> What I would like to know what is the J-D or is it I-D mark...

Re: "T" coded Longbranch's ?

Hi drhiller, Well I paid £375 for mine, which as I say is possibly a little high. I just looked through Gunmart and a normal No4 can be had for about £165 upwards, but I cannot of course see condition in an advert! However I was pleased with the bore condition and it doesn't shoot too badly at all, ...
