Re: 1919 Ishapore makings
When the wire wraps first appeared en masse in the mid 90s there was a bit of skepticism, in particular those stamped EY ( E mergency Use Onl y ). Short version is that a few were stripped down and all were in excellant working condition, after these first few, the rifles weren't stripped completely...

Re: My RFI .410 SMLE Conversion
Eoin, That load would make a perfect 'companion' for my .41 S&W. I don't know why I hadn't thought of that before. How well does it shoot?

Re: My RFI .410 SMLE Conversion
Eoin, I don't know if there is an Ishapore without some kind of butt repair! Has it been reamed to accept the standard .410 shell?
Thanks for sharing such a nice example of a .410 conversion.

Re: Possible first SMLE, should I buy?
HK_USP_45, Worth seeing if they will let you run a couple of patchs through the barrel. Many of the 1943 dated rifles are from the large Turkish import from a few years back. Almost surely if the import mark isn't very discreet. These have been, on the whole very original and in good condition. One ...

Re: New to me No4 Mk 1/3
Paul, I'm pretty sure that it is one of the BSA Mk.2 conversions and maybe one of the 'housecleaning' rifles with that S/N. There are far fewer of these than the Fazakerley Mk.2 conversions. A good find.

PeterN2, Thanks for sharing. While I can guess, I've never seen the "For Cordite Only" stamp, any info about that?

Re: Whats your favourite shooting Enfield?
Adam, Since it's been a few years and more than a few rounds down range I find it surprising that there still isn't a single vote for the No.4(T). Since I last posted on the thread, the L42 still doesn't care what ammo it shoots, still great fun to shoot them all (even if I'm having a bad ra...

Re: Help me identify this Enfield.
aprayinbear, It's a No.4 Mk.1 manufactured by BSA-Shirley per the S/N. It's a plus if the S/N on the bolt matches the rifle.
