Finally shot the last ditch
Still forgot batteries for pics. What I really got is a 1942 barreled action put together on a last ditch stock with a last ditch bolt. The bayonet piece is correct for the action and not the stock. Also the sling swivel has a place for a monopod so there is at least 3 guns according to the expert. ...

My first Last ditch Jap
Picked up a restored 7.7 yesterdayat the gunshow to fit my poor boy collection. None of the venders would give more than a 100 bucks so I popped off and offered 150. But I don't know crap about anything. Good bore ,mum intact and complete stock works for me. Got a bud that sold me a box of Normas fo...

Denmarks Swedish M94 Mauser
Ran across a few goodies at the gunshow. 98AZ Polish, 98AZ Turk. Also there was a clean Swede m94 carbine that somebody stuck a 1991 quarter in the stock about half way between the marking disc and the wrist of the stock. My book says Sweden gave {or sold} 94 and 96 rifles to Demark and the Finns. A...

Follow up on accuracy and reloading the No1 MK111
Well I made things worse on the Enfield. I'd found a 2 lb trigger with no 2nd stage and it made things worse on the off hand shooting. I never could get my shaking sights and the gun to line up and go off at the same time. From the bench things were looking better for a second with 2 shots touching ...

Great shooting 35 Whelen, Well I hate to admit it but its come to my attention that my SMLE is a 5 groove barrel. Rather hard to get an accurate reading with the old caliper when one jaw is on the lands and the other is on the groove. So whats the trick. I guess my .312 is more like a .315 or worse.

Welcome fellow Texan. The more I learn the less I know. The links people have left are good starting places. I'll repeat what I've read, cast size should be .001 to .003 oversized than the bore you hammered a SOFT lead bullet thru. At the club everyone I asked shoots SR4759 with vel in the 1800 fps,...

This is what I've tried. I've sanded the barrel chanel from the rear sight forward. Tighten the king screw as per instructed. Using UMC 174 FMJ I got 4 shots in 2'' with the 5th dropping 3'' from center[operator error]. One article I read talked about a major free floating of the barrel and removing...
