Great advice. I've only done one, a Springfield that had been is cosmoline, probably, from the 60's. Not being in a hurry, wrapped it in a black trash bag and hung it in the sun. I've been using Ed's Red for some time now. Using the formula with lanolin, barrels just seem to get smoother and smoother with no need to oil barrels afterwards for corrosion protection.
