Re: MAS 36 for me

Thanks for the link Duncan, I may take you up on that offer. At the moment I'm waiting to see if there's any extra goodies the seller may come across.

A real labour of love, incidentally it was rebuilt quite close to me at North Tyneside.

Re: MAS 36 for me

No mas minutes Duncan, I only have 40 cases and by the time I sussed out my sight setting, (700m for the 100m range), point of aim, (7 0 clock on the outer black), then rounds kept back for the chrono testing, I was getting a bit short for frivolities. I really like the sight picture Rober...

MAS 36 for me

I picked up a Mas 36 recently and today was spent fireforming and testing a few rounds which I had converted from some old Norma 6.5X55 brass, basicly nothing more than running it through the 7.5 sizing die and trimming to length. The rifle performed well, shooting slightly right with a bit of verti...

Re: I put a deposit on my first gun show table.

I'm a bit younger than you Robert but I'm starting to think on down sizing lines too. I'm not much cop at selling so I would say, know your bottom prices and stick with them, there are plenty of chancers out there who'll try and take your trousers down.
Good luck with the table sale.

There doesn't look like much "meat" between those cylinders Duncan, I'd be conservative loading for that one.
Nice looking handgun though, enjoy.

Thanks for an interesting post.

Bayonet ID ?

I was recently asked to identify and do write ups on a collection of bayonets, I managed to do so apart from this one which is labeled as a US M 15 bayonet. It looks unissued and doesn't have a single stamp or mark to help me.
I can't find anything US that looks like this, any ideas folks?

K98 pics

A couple of interesting pics I came across and thought I'd share, obviously K98 rifles and mountain troop kit. The edelweiss cap badges marks them as german Gebirgsjäger.

looks like you didn't forget how to shoot it. Considering the pistol restrictions, what happens if you wanted to sell it? Is it possible to sell it sight unseen? Suppose Blackisler wanted to buy it from you and have it locked at his range in Scotland.... supposing his range is approved as a place t...

Webley Mk IV .455

I hold this pistol under the restrictions of what's called Section 7-3 in the UK. I haven't fired it in almost two years and seeing as the club has been quiet this afternoon I thought I'd blow the cobwebs off it. Foties are pretty crap as I only had my fone and dim lighting in the range didn't help....
