Re: L1A1 SLR (FAL)

It sure looks the part! The single-shot conversion might make the recoil stiffer but also gives wider reloading options. You can load lighter without having to worry about cycling the action. I'm also remembering what you told us in on skype about how the gun shop you wanted to use isn't much...

Re: Swiss backpack

Thanks, guys!

Yes, I believe the last time the Swiss were invaded was by Napoleon.

I don't really have much use for this kind of alpine gear here in Florida, but it's still fun.

Swiss backpack

I think this is called an M1944 pack but I have seen it listed as different things. So here we go! The fabric is referred to as "salt and pepper" due to its appearance. 002.JPG 003.JPG 004.JPG The top has a great big fabric flap but also a smaller two-piece leather one... 005.JPG 006.JPG t...

Re: L1A1 SLR (FAL)

Yes yes,

You are going for the accessories first. Now you NEED the rifle. Very clever.

I love that the cleaning kit is original original. ;)

Re: ZfK55 parts kit

YIKE$! Keep at your search. You can do it! :D Just a couple things to keep in mind: Swiss spare parts kits or armorer kits can sometimes look alike. That ZfKar plate tells us what it's for. I can't find a pic but I remember seeing a roll for a General purpose MG (I think) that looked similar from th...

Re: Navy Air Museum in Pensacola Florida

Wow! Great pics!

I really should check the place out. It's not so far from an uncle of mine.

And a fort too!

ZfK55 parts kit

There are a couple different versions but they both seem to contain the same parts. 017.JPG 018.JPG Spare springs and things. 019.JPG The contents of that separate pouch. 020.JPG In that buttoned side pouch we have a spare bolt (not numbered) and bolt handle. See the extra rear locking lug on the bo...

ZfK55

Here is just some info about the Swiss ZfK55 001.JPG While the ZfK55 is based on the K31 they only share four parts in common: the firing pin, pin spring, cocking piece, and the extractor. Cheek pad not standard! 004.JPG The bipod legs move independently forward and back and the rifle can be canted ...
