Re: As we were talking about Turks in recent posts

Here are some pic's of Turkish Mausers that will cover some of the Models 1893 Turk with cutoff box and stright stock. The Turkish 1893 is the only Mauser that was built with a cutoff box. http://i33.tinypic.com/2i12w4p.jpg http://i34.tinypic.com/2j5f1qa.jpg http://i33.tinypic.com/20t4f14.jpg http:/...

1899 Tula M91 (SCW)

I picked up this 1899 Tula M91 on a tread last month. This one covers two holes in my Mosin collection. #1, A rifle made before 1900 and #2, A Spainish Civil War rifle. http://i50.tinypic.com/5f0t3t.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/24d3r5k.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/2u7109k.jpg http://i50.tinypic.com/20as...

I'm in full on begging mode hoping that Preach can get me one of those.
I have only played with it so far. I was shooting 1 1/2 in, 5 shot groups at 50 yds with Fedreal Champion.

Picked up two rifles today.

A friend gave a guy my phone # and he called last night. The guy said he had two old military rifles of some kind, said that the markings looked Chinese. He said he got them with some stuff he bought and did not want them. He said that he didn't have much tied up in the two rifles and the pawn shops...

Re: RESTORING A SHOTGUN STOCK

Sounds like you are on the right track. When staining the stock you could use a stain that has a filler in it. I really like Herter's French Red from Brownell's. If you want a softer look to the stock you can do an Oil Scrub finish. Here is a link to my sticky at SRF on doing an Oil Scrub. http://ww...
