Very nice rifle, Lee! The stock is a modified pre-1900 (Izhevsk?) stock without the sling slots or recoil lug. Those were added at a much later date, & by the looks of it, a pocketknife & a bottle of voodka were used by the person installing these. :oops: It looks as if Finland may have put ...

I bought this on the cheap a few months back. It had been sporterized; drilled & tapped for a scope. Previous owner filled in the holes & cold blued the receiver, put on a new scant stock & rear sight assembly. It was still wearing a sporter bolt & triggerguard when I bought it along...

These were Hartford, Conn. PD trade ins when their PD decided upon a newer, lighter sidearm in the M&P 40 or 45.

From what I have read, the Mosins purchased from Spain in the 1960's by Interarms had the "USSR" or "URRS" stamp placed there in the U.S., possibly to seperate them from the other obsolete firearms that Interarms was importing from Spain.
