Re: Bulgarian Wedge om M91 Nagant
Bats, the leaf spring is also wedge shaped & the small screw keeps the spring from moving around, but the screw is easily stripped or broken, so the wedge is often to insure against loss of the spring or just a quick fix for a missing screw.

Re: SVT-40
redadeg! Welcome to After Hours. The security pin that you speak of is actually a push button that allows the mechanism to engage & lock into a notch found only on true sniper variants of the SVT40 rifles. The notch is found at the top rear of the receiver just behind the action cover. Either Dr...

Re: Colt Army Special .38 special,from 1926
Those are fantastic old revolvers! I have access to one & several Police Positives. They are quite accurate. I remember striking a 12 inch round gong from 100yds away four of six rounds on a regular basis shooting offhand with a Colt revolver. These are very well made revolvers. I prefer the Col...

Re: Saints or Colts?
I read the heading and thought "I know what a Colt is but what the hell is a 'Saint' . . .now I know that it's not another pistol     The Colts are named after a young horse. The Saints are named for the New Orleans Jazz tune "When the Saints go Marching In." In...

Re: An old,sporterized Mosin.
In my excitement, I failed to study the first picture. I now see that the barrel has been shortened. A full restoration is not possible. While a nice 91/30 will run about $100.00, an intact dragoon will usually fetch about $350.00 Most M91 dragoons in the U.S. came here by way of Spain (SCW) or Finl...

Re: An old,sporterized Mosin.
OMG! Krull, that is NOT a 91/30! That is a much more desirable & valueable dragoon rifle(The shorter version of the M91) I have restored several of these. For the present time, keep all of the parts together & candyman & I will help you put her back in fighting trim. candyman has a few ...
