Swiss Bayonet Frogs

*frog noises* Here is a quick guide for you on matching a frog to your bayonet. In these cases the frog grips the Bayonet scabbard with the aid of a tab. The older models (K31,K11 and older) use the buckle style. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a292/ArchFluffy/Swiss/swiss%20bayonet%20older_zpsxvg4...

Re: Argentine 1891 Question.....

Hello and welcome to the forum! I do think that you are correct in that it has been cut down from the standard model. It looks like a pro job but also a bit wonky for mounting a bayonet. Re: Schmidt Rubin, Model G11

Whatever you do make sure you take pics!

It sure looks pretty!

Makes me want to buy another rifle. Hmmm, where to start? I guess I'll get a sling, and muzzle cover and reloading dies and supplies and a bayo...

Seriously though, it looks great!

The Sunday chat

The live chat the last Sunday was crazy fun.

Duncan was showing us his new rifle and even included a live fire demonstration. Wow!

Re: Schmidt Rubin, Model G11

Yes, You must check it for functionality. :D

Besides that the only other thing I can think of is to remind you to use care when cleaning the stock to preserve the markings and not round off any edges.

It's going to look great! :SWI:

Re: Schmidt Rubin, Model G11

Yay! It's finally arrived! Okay, when I decide to refinish my old Swiss rifles I use this recipe. It's supposed to be the old one for the old walnut stocks. 30% Turpentine 30% Linseed oil (raw, not the boiled kind) 30% fruit (wine) vinegar 10% bee's wax The hardest part is heating the liquid to melt...
