More UK firearm restrictions

The Home Office has been working overtime on proposals to define an antique firearm and also ban private possession of the .50 Browning rifles and Manually Activated Release System rifles. These are a rifle that ejects the case but holds the bolt back until it is released by a pull second pull on th...

Re: MAYBE A NEW COLLECTION DIRECTION?

I have just bought a 1936 dated 3 inch artillery shell case at a local auction. It stands 16 1/2 inches tall and is ideal for standing my cleaning rods in.

Re: POF ammo

I remember reading that a lot of POF ammo was click bang stuff and some click only though there were some OK batches. I have not seen any in the UK though. I have a few rounds of 1940 vintage Indian made .303 ammo. That is in the collecting stash and not for shooting. All will be corrosive so hot wa...

Re: Current collection............

I sometimes watch American Pickers on TV here. Some of the people they visit are serious hoarders with whole buildings full of stuff they have had for years and are reluctant to let go, even though it will just sit there until they die and the family will then have to sort it out.

HMS Vanguard

I found this film of the last battleship of the Royal Navy being sent to the scrapyard in 1960. I found it quite sad. The other link is of the ship in service.

Nicola Sturgeon

Nicola Sturgeon was visiting a Scottish primary school and the class was in the middle of a discussion related to words and their meanings. The teacher asked Mrs Sturgeon if she would like to lead the discussion on the word 'Tragedy'. So the illustrious SNP leader asked the class for an example of a...

Re: Head count

I have a 1943 date K31. This was put through a refurb in 1957. It has the tag under the butt plate. It has a neat repair to the woodwork under the serial number on the left side of the stock. It came with the sling. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/PeterN/K31Fullright.jpg http://img.photobucke...

Re: Since the WWI threads are really active. A look at the weapons

It is a bit frustrating not being able to shoot them. I used to shoot the Webley before the ban, but I got the Colt from a friend who retired to Cyprus after the ban. He used to shoot it.

Re: Collection......

I have a friend who has never taken to digital photography. He shoots colour slides only. I think it is Fuji film he uses mostly these days.
