Re: Replica M1903A1 USMC Sniper rifle

That is nice, thanks for showing it. My gun safes are quite full, but I would find room for that rifle.

Portuguese 04/39 Mauser

I am still buying a rifle from time to time. I bought this rifle a couple of weeks ago. It is a conversion of a 1904 Portuguese Mauser from 6.5x58mm to 8x57mm done by the Portuguese when they adopted the 8mm Mauser cartridge in the late 1930s. They shortened the barrel and re-bored to 8mm, added fro...

Re: Finn Tula M91 brings some money now days.

Most milsurp rifles seem to go for ridiculously high prices these days compared to what they were worth not too long ago. I don't think I could afford what I have got if I had to pay the prices that people are asking now.

Sony HX50 gone faulty

My Sony HX50 camera developed a fault. When I turned it on, the lens extended but the screen didn't work, the lens then retracted and a message came up on the screen to power off the camera and turn it on again. There was also a error code flashing. Well, turning off and on again didn't work. It jus...

Re: Random Meaningless Pictures-Lets See Them

My history teacher was prone to testing the aerodynamics of one of those from time to time.

I wish I had a Lebel. I have been looking for one but I have not found one that was in decent condition and priced cheap enough.

Re: Surplus Firearms by Guns & Ammo

I don't have any of the surplus firearms annuals, but I have just checked my book case and see I have 11 of the Guns & Ammo annuals. The earliest is 1977 and the last 1999 so a few are missing. I just had a flick through a couple and think I might have to have a re-read of them. I was in a local...

Re: I wonder how long..........

Well, if they go looking for my social media profile they will find nothing because I don’t do social media. I only post on a few shooting forums. Four people were shot and wounded in a drive by shooting in Camden in London at the weekend. That could easily have been another four deaths. Not much me...

.44 Remington

For the first time in a good few years, I took my Pietta 1858 Remington to the range. I enjoyed shooting it but it is easy to see why cartridge revolvers took over. It was the first time I have shot a revolver for about 12 years. A pic of the target shot at around 20 paces. The load was about 25 gra...

Re: Minolta XG-M

I think it is the winding gear that is stuck. The shutter won't work if the winder is not in the right position. I will get the local camera shop to look at it as it could be just a cog that has jumped out of place.
