Just look at the cases...

There wouldn't be much left of the barrel Nock's Form after a rechamber to 7.62X54R---the shoulder on the .303 is quite a bit further forward than the one on the .30 Russian. Rechambering would require a lot of barrel setback. Enough, I think, that the forstock would have to be shortened to accomoda...

You can read his website?

The transition from the old to the "Enfield Collector" has left the place so disjointed, I can't stand to navigate it. So it isn't news, after all. Oh well, sorry. At the Tulsa Gun Show in April, I will be taking along a 1986 Ishapore No1 Mk3* and a few screwdrivers---so he can verify what...

Interesting News.....

"...the new 'Lee-Enfield Rifles' edition I will start to publish at the end of this year." Got this in an Email from somebody in Australia. Could it possibly be of any interest to anyone here? Probably not-----not many "bookish" types around these parts! Forget I said anything! ...

1933 K31

Here is a cheesy webcam shot of the serial number---looks like it's the 346th K31 to come off the line in regular production. Kind of a big deal to me......and maybe a couple other people. Almost let it get away. It came in with a nice 1955, which I immediately reserved for myself, but it took about...

A Message From India

Here is a letter to Divya from her uncle, who is an Indian Army officer. I had made an enquiry regarding the mark pictured here and Divya passed this on to her uncle who was nice enough to make this reply. I quote: "My dearest Divya, ...Finally I have managed to get the required information. Th...

Done.

Mick,

More than happy to vote---although I admitted I was an American, so it might be annulled.

Hmmmmm....

It's got to be difficult to get any kind of accuracy from a rig like that.

Maybe if you put a tang sight on it?

Big Boots

These are supposed to be Swiss Hobnail Boots, but they say "Made In Germany" inside them, so I don't know about their reputed provenance. I got the giant suckers for nothing---so I don't care if they're Swiss or not...next time I am out walking on the glacier, I shall be thankful to have t...

Sights...

Well, Joe, the Mk2 sight is on to stay, so I assume the rifle will shoot to combat specifications fairly well...but that's likely to be all I will attempt. The pin that retains the rear sight axis is peened in place, or I would consider putting on one of the LB Mk1s I have to hand. Don't want to ris...

The Photos---

Here are the shots I had patience for today.

The rifle is virtually new---no wear, anywhere.

Are these photos visible to people other than myself?.

I can't see them after they have been up for more than 5 minutes.

Photos loaded with the Img button above remain visible----bah!
