I posted about this before long ago...but since seeing the recent post by sakorick on his earlier design 03 I took out the camera.
My O3A3 I got from the CMP in 2004. It cost all of $452.95 including cost of shipping.
Notice how Safe and Ready are imprinted on the safety. For soldiers that could read I guess. Then there is the Off and On for the magazine feed. The cocking piece at the end of the bolt would work like a Mauser to re-cock the piece on a misfire.
The sight hood is something I added. Note the R for Remington on the side of it.
Note the trigger guard assembly is cast rather than forged.
Remington 1903A3
Re: Remington 1903A3
Nice one. I think that Frank J Atwood's (FJA) appears on more rifles than anyone else in history. How many parts were changed during rebuild? There are many of us that subscribe to the theory that the arsenals changed parts for job security! Regards, Rick.
