The starting bid is up there isn't it? At least it has the dust cover. No Imperial Chrysanthemum though. I took some photos of the dust cover on my Arisaka to show how it was mated to the bolt. I think in combat a lot of the Japanese troops are said to have discarded the dust cover because of the clunk it made when working the bolt. But this may just be internet false information. Who knows?

There's one of those local to me, bit spendy at £750 even if it has the flower.

Just noticed the one in your ad says it's in 8X57 IS Duncan. Not sure if I'd want to shoot that one.

Me neither Joe. I have no interest in Jap rifles but thought a few of you might.

I hadn't paid any attention to this caliber statement either. I see from a search online that the Chinese converted a lot of these and many were exported to other countries two or three decades ago. But the more powerful round in these old war relics would be a dangerous proposition seems to me too, if the owner ever planned to shoot with any standard ammo.joseyclosey wrote:Just noticed the one in your ad says it's in 8X57 IS Duncan.
