stuff on butt

Post by speared um » Wed Jan 14, 2004 3:47 pm

My Hangyang(?) Gew88 Kommission .318 has a large oval cartouche on the right butt stock, with four Chinese charactors (letters)cut into the wood. Whould anyone know what they signify?

The wood has a dark finish all over with the normal effects of over 100 years of service; the metel is grayish but solid. The bore is shiney with good rifleing, but the head space is excessive and unshootable.

thanx dante'
