NEW TO FORUM

Post by SCREWLOOSETC » Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:35 am

Hi

My name is tom and i joined this forum because i just aquired 2 arisaka type 99 rifles and was looking for information.Found out the manufacturer of one Toyo Kogo is still in existance after the bomb, making transmissions for Mazda. i Have owned Mazdas for years and didn't know their headquarters was on Hiroshema.

I started playing with Japanese rifles about 1965 when they cost $5.00 in good condition. I still have a custom target rifle in 7mm Ackley imp. built on a reworked action with the mum still in place. I took a lot of ribbing for messing with the worthless Jap rifles when u could buy a Mauser for $25.00. Wish i still had the swedish carbine I bought from Sears for $29.00. I just recently discovered single shot rifles.

I also collect model airplane engines..And own a 1960BMW R69 motorcycle that I restored awhile back

Welcome SCREWLOOSETC. You could post some pics of your model aeroplane engines on the 'other things we collect' forum.

Arisakas are not as cheap now are they?

Regards

Peter.

Yes, we have exchanged mail Im still gathering information. I tracked my rifle to the history of Mazda.Seems Mazda started as Toyo Kogyo.Ive spent a lot of time with Mazdas to.
