New 1903 Siamese Mauser

Post by Calfed » Sun Jul 11, 2010 11:38 pm

I've been looking for one of these for a while. One finally turned up at an on-line estate sale:

Sorry about the poor quality pictures--they are from the auction sight. I'll post better when it arrives.

Now that's not one you see every day. Looks like you are going to have to construct your own ammo if you want to shoot it because of the odd 8mm ammo it shoots.

I found this site when I wanted to know some information about it.

Do you have one? If so, have you made up any ammo for it and if so, how does it shoot?

Thanks

No. I don't have one. I was just interested in what it was from your post and did some Google search.

Robert Ball, in his Mauser book, says that because the ammo is not made today many of the rifles that are in collections have been professionally rechambered for the 45-70.

I, myself am totally ignorant about the question. Maybe somebody else will see this string that has some first hand knowledge.
