.300 Sherwood

Postby ian27 » Sun Jan 05, 2014 1:13 pm

I have been offered a Westley Richards rifle with Martini action. The barrel is stamped .300 special cartridge and I have been told that this is .300 Sherwood. The rifle is in reasonable condition, but I have no knowledge on reloading this calibre. I see that Midway and Henry Krank do the brass, Bertram cases. Anybody got any experience on reloading this, what bullets, powder etc???? Only place I can see dies is Buffalo Arms.

Yes Duncan, I have seen that. I just checked Henry Krank's site, the .300 Sherwood brass is £1.65 per case, bit pricey!!!!

Last year I bought 40 cases of 11x59 French Gras for a friend at my club - £3.10 each!
He paid willingly as to try and get them here meant a wait of over 12 months.........
