Postby ozzielee303 » Thu Jan 14, 2010 5:05 pm

Hi
Does anyone know how or where I can find information on how to wrap ammunition in paper and then tie it up with string? :?:

Like the old time ammo, like 577/450,.303 and the like??

Don't know about historical accuracy but there is a youtube video (isn't there always) on how to do it. He does shotshells first so be patient. The only other option can can think of would be to buy an original packet and deconstruct.
Let us know how it turns out, I've got some Mk VI ammo that might do up as a display.

Thanks for that mate, really interesting that was.
Found a webite that you download a PDF file and it shows you how to do Blackpowder cartridges and then wrap the ammo up in a paper wrap/box.
But still looking, for that was not the one I remember seeing.
Cheers to ya mate ;)

The English form of shufti (arabic for look / take a look)

Originally RAF but later Army also, shufty or shufti became taking a look for possible dangers.
Back home, it was used simply for having a quick look

Taken from one of 3 DVD's I have of old MOD Manuals etc including some Australian manuals that I was sent by a guy in the States a few years ago. There are also more modern versions on the discs. Fantastic collection of info.

If you would like a set I will copy them and send them over but please remember, they must not be copied and sold.
OM me with a postal address and I will sort them out for you.
