So you think you are a collector?

Things a soldier would carry other than firearms, ammo, or uniforms. Meaning equipment such as ammo pouches, bayonets, holsters, oil cans, cleaning equipment, etc.

The 1927 Bannerman catalog was republished some years ago. If only I had a time machine and money that was good in those days.

How about a few posts from the catalogue?
I remember drooling over Bannerman's stuff in the late 1940s/ early 1950s, when

1) I didn't have any spare money*

and,

2) Even if I had, imports from the US of A were severely restricted.

*On second thoughts, I didn't really have any money much at all.

Here is another page from that catalog. You will note the bastardized Nagants. The "Russian Springfield" carbine sporter modified to 30.06. Wording says it has a NEW barrel. Maybe they meant New England Westinghouse that had been cut down, although worded to make you believe it is just "new". I think the Bannerman conversions, probably dangerous to shoot, were all made out of the British Contract Nagants that were stuck in America after the Russian Revolution nulified the contracts. Note the full length Mosin is advertised as made by Remington.

Notice the 1917, maybe WWI use, is offered for less than the bastardized full length Mosin. And the Krag "sporter" with 22 inch barrel is offered for slightly less than either.
