My Mauser Argie M91 developed problems with the mag and follower. The rear part of the 'follower plate' sticks and will not depress and allow insertion of the rounds.<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :evil --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/devil.gif ALT=":evil">;
I opened the floor-plate and everything looked functional, but when I tried to assemble the mag, the screw would not enter the hole in the floor plate. I could not overcome the spring pressure to get the hole to match the screw! The screw pushed the floor plate out, but the plate held.
The follower was still stuck, and it wasn't binding on the side of the mag; can the floor plate spring be to strong and not allow the follower to function?

Re: Problems with mt Argie M91
I've never experienced such a spring. If all are assembled correctly I would tend to think that the issue is between the mag and the follower. I just tried mine and it is either unissued or very close to it....and the follower is easily depressed with one finger. Has to be a 'bind' in there somewhere, I can't see the spring being the problem.

I think the spring is causing the bind, by being too strong and not allowing the end of the follower to depress. The follower is not caught on the mag.

"...can the floor plate spring be too strong..." Not if it's the right spring. Has it always done this?
Take out the spring and the screws and try dropping the follower into place. If it drops without binding, the follower is ok.
"...the screw would not enter the hole in the floor plate..." I'm thinking you may have cross threaded the screw. Is it the right screw?

Spelling and grammar always count.
