Wrong size!

Post by ArchFluffy » Mon Mar 17, 2014 6:38 pm

I got my shooting supplies and discovered that I had bout the wrong 36 CAL balls.

I saw a good price and went for it. Then upon opening the box of 100 I thought that they looked a bit small. The new balls drop right to the bottom of the cylinders that the old ones need to be rammed tight into.

large = .375 and these small ones are .350.

Is the big "36 CAL" lable on the box more of a hint than anything else. :?:

I guess 36ish cal wouldn't sound as good. :loco:

I would expect the size to be noted exactly Arch. Looks to me like you should be able to work an exchange for the right ones. My Remi 1858 in .44 and I use .457 ball in it.

The size was noted exactly. I just didn't know what the other number (the number that turned out to be the exact size) was. I thought a 36 cal ball was a 36 cal ball. I should have educated myself further. No dice on the return since I opened the box. I'll see if I can trade it away someplace.

I'll get new BIGGER balls ;)

Maybe I should find a 36cal (correct one) cone type bullet mold.

Then you will need;

A burner
A pot to melt the lead in
A pouring ladle
Protective goggles
Respirator
Some lead
Some flux
Some scales
Some time
Oh yes, and some patience

Cheaper to buy the right size Arch

Yikes! Cheaper to by both the wrong and right size apparently!

The correct size arrived today! Yes!

Revolver is ready for action too. I'll try to get to the range next week :D
