Re: BUILDING THE CANNON ..............
More progress.
Gunport lid and hinges to re size slightly because of the paint.
Loading and cleaning tools. The worm from a Baker Rifle, the other pieces from my .50 calibre Enfield P58!
The view from the enemy!

Looks like you are making progress. 4th of July is Saturday. Maybe fire a salute. ... And yes, I know you have to cast some ammo and you are having some problems getting your right arm to click into gear still.

Maybe make the wad out of a discorded wine cork. You must have some of those laying around.

Re: BUILDING THE CANNON ..............
Because I have found it impossible to source some pully blocks of the right size I have decided to make my own from Meccano and Oak. The raw materials....
I have also finished the ship's side, ready for the blocks.

Re: BUILDING THE CANNON ..............
First attempt at a pulley block, I need to find some steel or brass rod to fit properly but the principal looks OK

As a quick aside, photo credit to Philip Donnelly who took these with a drone!

Great photos. Did the drone survive.....
Look like American Civil War uniforms from Union Army and a "Southern Belle" in the background.

Peace is that brief, quiet moment in history.......... when everybody stands around reloading.
