The heritage weekend in Blaye this year will include these chaps http://garde-chauvin.free-h.net/topic/index-en.html Le Garde Chauvin.
Think I might take the Baker down and give them a thrill !!!! I will also take my Canon (camera)

Well, as I arranged, I paid a visit to the encampment of Le Garde Chauvin in the Citadelle of Blaye today where they were taking part in a Heritage weekend.. I finished up with about 150 photographs.
Here are some images that I took. I shall be editing the best and sending them copies.

They have a lot of kit but the 'firelocks' look a bit dodgy to me.

A lot of interest ion the Baker

Not as "dodgy" as some I saw recently.

Speaking of "dodgy" , why is that reenactors all over the globe seem to include a lot of gray headed, pot bellied, old men that are totally unfit for service in any army by anybodies stretch of imagination?

Maybe the young ones are either doing it for real or they just can't be arsed to get off their bums and put the bloody smart phones down - they can do iot all in a game.............
