P53 day
My pal and myself took our Parker Hale P53s to the range on Tuesday so I took the opportunity of a foto post.
Both rifles/shooters were doing ok, keeping the majority of shots on the black at 100m, though Mals rifle seemed a tad tighter in grouping with the NOE Hodgdon minie than mine with the Lyman. We both used 70grs of Swiss No. 3 BP.
Twas a grand out.

I need to shoot mine, the Italian reproduction, one of these days. Just never get around to it. I also have the wall hanger Nepal historic curiosity that is past it's firing days.

Re: P53 day
I don't shoot mine as much as I should, casting the minies can be a real pain in the jacksie if I'm not on top of my casting procedure.

I'm actually out of usable ammo for my rifle. I bought a couple bags of .58 ammo that had come from Navy Arms a few years back at what looked at the time a bargain price. Turns out this ammo has one small problem. The Mini bullet should have a concave bottom which would, upon firing, cause the bullet to be affected by the rifling by expanding the base edge of the bullet. The Maxi has a flat bottom and the bullet goes out the barrel with little accuracy and little to no stabilizing rotation.
