Bit different to the modern Single shots, no idea of the cartridge etc., in fact no info at all other than it's probable origin.

no idea of the cartridge etc.
Going by the shape, perhaps based on the Martini and maybe .577 or .303 ?
Wouldn't fire it unless it was a cap gun no matter what the calibre.
