I got this email of the latest "specials"....meaning...."are you the fool we are looking for?". But, be that as it may, this outfit has a musket that is....they say.... setup to discharge fire bombs in to enemy sailing ship rigging. Never saw or thought of such before, but like in Ghost Busters, I'm willing to believe what they say it is.....but not crazy enough to buy.

Great price Can't see why you don't jump at the chance.
They were in use on flintlocks and are the forerunners of the more modern discharger cups for the SMLE etc.
If I had the money, I'd buy something else! Mind though, if it's genuine and it looks dinged enough to be so, then it's a great historical piece.

Bomb throwers were made both as Accessories to Muskets ( such as this Sea Service Brown Bess) or as shorter, dedicated
Grenade Launchers, looking like a Blunderbuss with a large Cup cast into the Muzzle--usually cast bronze/brass barrel.
( French would be ( approx) "Tromblon de grenadier"). Mostly for Sea Service. ( Royal Navy)
Ie, the Fore-runner of the M79 "Wombat".
Common during the Napoleonic Wars.
