Ardesa Patriot .45

Some time ago I bought myself an Ardesa Hawken Woodsman in cal .45.
I started to like this ML shooting so much that I decided to buy myself a ML pistol.

The pistol of my choice is the Spanish made Ardesa Patriot in cal .45.
In the USA this pistol is sold as the Tradions Trapper.

Anybody in here has any experience with this pistol???
All I can say is that I like the looks of it.
Next to that the pistol is very affordable.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

I got one. Bought it as a kit. The US version, at least mine, is 50 caliber. Shoots terrific. That nice heavy barrel helps in shooting to point of aim I think.

Thanks for your reply Robert.
I think you are right.
The US Traditions pistol is in cal .50 and the European (Ardesa) version is in .45.
Been thinking about buying such a pistol for some time now and a couple of days ago my "minister of finance" said OK.......go ahead and buy one.

I will order myself one from a German ML shop, but will pick it up in a couple of months.
Then I will drive over to Germany with a good friend, pick up the pistol and have a great weekend in Germany. :D

The only downside of this story is that I will have to get permission to shift my .22 Polish Trainer from my shooting license to my collectors license.
The ML pistol needs a license and as you all might know over here the max number of weapons on a shooters license is 5 and I already reached that number.
Got no problem with shifting the .22 trainer to another license.
I just hope that I get the permission from our local police..

I really started to like this ML shooting.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin

Why 2 triggers, is one some sort of safety??

The back trigger is the set trigger. You cock the hammer back. You pull back on the back set trigger until you hear the click. Then you can pull the front tigger to fire. Makes a lighter trigger pull in the firing mode.

Vern... you know Alabama and Georgia are playing right now for the right to kick Notre Dame's ass in the national championship don't you? Back to the game...

Martin, you really are hooked aren't you!
My pal Alain has a couple of pistols as you probably know from previous posts I made but here. I will add them when I have re-sized them cos they are too big as they are :(

He says he prefers them to revolvers and they are much more accurate...................

I guess I am Duncan.
I really like shooting my Hawken Woodsman and hope that I get permission to shift the WZ-48 to my collectors license to make room for the Ardesa Patriot.
I sent the police officer responsible for weapons and ammunition an E-mail last Friday ans I expect to get an answer within a week or so.
As soon as I get a positive answer I will order myself an Ardesa Patriot at this German ML shop.

I'll keep you posted.

Oh....by the way Duncan.....I've got to have one of those hats.
I don't smoke but I love the smell of BP.

Duncan,

I love the way the Mang pistol looks, but I think the Le Page flint lock looks FANTASTIC.
I now have to decide which rifle to sell to buy myself a Le page flint lock. :(

I should have bought my first ML years ago.
I guess it's never to late though.

Thanks for posting the pictures Duncan.
