.223 semi-auto that legal in CA?

This forum is for all other rifles and hand guns that we have an interest in. They need not be of military origin nor C&R.

.223 semi-auto that legal in CA?

Post by spearedum » Wed Aug 26, 2009 2:19 pm

CA legal .223 semis I know of are:
Ruger Mini-M-14 and a 10 round AR type .223- 'Kal-Tec Su-16'.
What is your opinion on these two knowing other AR or AK are better rifles for value.
Does anyone know of other rifles in this class that maybe legal in Kelefornia?

California does not allow 'assault rifles'... they must LOOK dangerous! I can buy a rifle that is semi-auto W?O a hi-cap (over 10 rds) mag. The Kel-Tec lools like an "AR', with a 10 rd. mag.=$600. Their are other "OOL" (off of list) rifles in the AR family that are legal but costly. The Rugar Mini-14 is legal in ROK lol, but it hales for ~$1000.

I'm looking for other =OOL rifles that are under a grand!

I nead to update my post:
PRK denotes any center-fire semi-auto an assault weapon if:
It has a pistol grip
flash suppressor
bayonet lug
thumb-hole stock
barrel under 16" and/or total length under 30"
removable magazine or fixed mag over 10 rounds.
(Also, a line from the receiver to the stock must fall below the center of the stock(?))

The kicker is if the magazine needs a tool to remove the mag from the receiver it is not considered a removable magazine. A bullet button device will keep the mag secure, but any screwdriver or bullet point can remove the mag to replace with a full mag. AS LONG AS THE TOOL IS NOT A PAR T OF A PERSON i.e. finger or other pointy device... no pun intended!

There are OLL (Off List Lower) that has the AR-15 receiver, and comes with a Bullet button. Than, I can buy any UPPER including the barrel, buffer and spring, hand guards etc. The perminite 10 round mag. supersedes most other assault weapon definitions.

NOW, if you don't think that's crazy.. how 'bout if I tell you our govenator made a marijuana movie!
