I think I remember now... you had a French baker make them up for you according to your instructions. Looks like a hamburger bun.

Glad the rifle worked out too.

Where I come from that is known as 'Mucky fat'
Used to be available on a Sunday morning in the local pub, spread on bread with sliced raw onions in vinegar and salt to sprinkle on it.

Looks like at least a few of the serial numbers match. Don't see any pitting in the metal shown. That's a good sign of previous storage history. Now all you got to do is put it back together again...

I wish Walt!
My wife fell and broke her right wrist last Saturday so is hor de combat at the moment and I have just developed a thrombosis in my left leg ( AGAIN   ) so range time is at the bottom of the list

What we Yorkshire folk call Mucky Fat.
It was always spread on bread and offered free on the bar at the local pub on Sunday morning with a salt pot and fresh sliced onions in malt vinegar.

Ever think that maybe all that cooked fat spread on bread may be why you have the thrombosis problem?

Proper Range Time yesterday.
Started at 50 mtrs with checking the Zero. Minimum sight set is 200 yds.

FIRST 10.jpg

First 10. POA Bull. ( I started patching up before I took the photo )

Was happy with that and so moved to 100 mtrs - same point of aim.

SECOND 15.jpg

12 hits out of 15. POA still the bull. Difficult to see a good sight pattern what with my glasses and a heat haze over the barrel.

THIRD 10.jpg

Last 10 rounds, POA top of the target. Still difficult to make a clear sight pattern but very pleased with the afternoon. Need more ammunition now and we will try 200 mtrs
