SMLE Nose Caps

Post by Aughnanure » Wed Sep 24, 2014 3:18 am

Does anyone know if the odious modification of putting holes in nosecaps, to make sight adjustment easier, was ever performed by other than Australia?

Or was it our own stupid idea?

Reason that I asked is because I recorded a Czechoslovakian film called "Tobruk", which is about a Czeck unit there in WW II and the nosecap holes are in abundance.; plus a few other howlers.
