Snider range day..........

Post by DuncaninFrance » Wed Dec 14, 2016 3:53 pm

I finally got some free time and loaded up 10 Magtech cases the way my mate Rob showed on his recent video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAEfDVq8cIQ
The cases were once fired so were fire formed to my Snider Mk:III.

Load: 70 grn ffg - 38 grn maize filler - card wad - .600 X-Ring lubed bullet.

Result: 2 sighters at 50 mtrs then 7 rounds at 100 mtrs. ( The bullet came out of one round in the box so could not be fired.) with 5 hits. Not a very good day........

Think I need to go back to backer rod and a properly seated bullet...........

Bad shooting is still better than no range time at all :P

Although I am very biased, Sniders are fantastic rifles.
You can shoot ball or Minié using cut down 28g shotgun shells, plastic or brass.
Lee do a great set of reloading dies but you will need their Classic press.

Check this link out for lots of info. :GBR: :GBR:
