Pattern 14 at the range

Post by joseyclosey » Sat Feb 17, 2018 3:39 pm

Photobucket being the pain it is I have decided to take more foties of my kit and being at the range today seemed a good time to start. This is my Winchester Pattern 14, I was using 200g lead bullets over 12g of unique at 100m and 300m. This is my go to .303 load and just seems to work in both my .303s.
It was a cold day with a few showers around lunch time but that didn't spoil the fun.

Good photos. Shows what your range is like this time of year too. Don't think I could even see the bulls-eye at 300 yards anymore, much less hit it. It's hell getting old. :(

Very nice Joe, I can smell the moors!
Wish we had some trench shooting points, I loved them.............

The peephole rear sight helps a lot with sight acquisition Robert, I took my M41 Carcano too and struggled a bit with that. Oh for some warmer weather though !
