Is thsi real?
Looking at Gunbroker, I see this auction
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewIt ... m=89115584
The seller says this about it...
Receiver markings are
no5 mk1
3/46 v2010
its marking are very faint ,and this is not a typical jungle carbine as it does not have the hole drilled in to bolt or speed cuts this is a early post war rifle made this way and not a cut up gun smith special made to look like a number 5 it is what it is ......history
Is anyone aware of any No5s that didn't have the bolt drilled etc?
Auction ends in 22 hours, was going to get this for Mrs Goblin :-)

I have a "V" prefix 1946 No5 and the boltknob is hollow and matching.
If the boltknob isn't hollow, it's a replacement.
The seller is always short on useful information on his offerings---which is usually problematic.
I would not pay his price for a non-matching rifle.
There are ALWAYS No5s available on Gunbroker.
