DIARY OF THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918

Postby DuncaninFrance » Thu Jun 26, 2014 9:22 am

I intend to publish a day by day detail of some events that took place during the conflict - hopefully continuing it until the end of the conflict was reached with the formal ratification of peace in Paris on January 1st 1920.
The details are taken from a re-print of "The Times Diary and Index of the War". I hope that you find the details of interest.

From the Washington Times of June 29, 1914. They had "experts" to expound on the news in those days too.

Here's what the New York Tribune was saying on the same date as above. Now this story probably wouldn't stand up to much scrutiny ...but it's good for getting the pot to boil over.

It goes on to describe evidence found that lists the amounts of money paid to carry out the assassination.

http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/ ... d-1/seq-7/

Also an advertisement for Hamburg America line in the New York Paper as well. With a pretty extensive proposed travel schedule.
