Seems like the "grateful" government offered to give out some commemorative pins to organizations that wanted to have some ceremony and give out the pins to veterans. This way the Government can show how much it appreciates us Vietnam Veterans fifty years after the start of that war. The current defense secretary gave out a half dozen of them at the Wall today...and then went to lunch.

Well, whoop-de-do, it's Viet Nam Veterans Day. Maybe I'll party like it's 1969........
Not sure if I should be happy they finally (2012) made it an official day, or pissed because it took
