It was D-Day.... and the beaches ran red. It's hard for me to imagine how those guys had
the balls to just run across the beaches with their friends falling all around them. Like the
men advancing across no-man's-land in WWI. Not sure I could be that brave, luckily, I'll never
have to find out.

My dad was with the 82nd/505th PIR and this day has always been special to him, he received his purple heart he received for wounds he received that day, and he still vividly remembers the 1st German he killed, he said he was just a boy, never mind the fact so was he.
