M-60 remote chain saw...

Post by spearedum » Thu Dec 08, 2005 3:54 pm

.. did not need batteries! On our OP, we had a 'mad minute' or two every night and/or day after 6:00 PM. I don't know what 'hours' it was, but anything on two legs out after that time was the enemy.

There is/was a tree about 300 meters down range towards the valley, but it looked like a hell of a cover for sappers and such. Being the ingenious GI's we were, and not having a saw to be found, well... lets chop it down with the 60!

Until the time I was dusted-off, that tree was still standing, but it SURE weight a hell O' a lot more! It was beyond the range of the 79, but we shot the M-60, M-16's, M-1 carbines, M-1's and even a BAR at that tree. We dumpt a lot of rounds into that wood.

I'de like to go back some time to check if there's any rust!

Thanx Dante' :CA: :salute:
