One of those senior moments

Post by Niner » Wed Jul 26, 2006 10:47 pm

When I recently took to buying semi-expensive cigars, I got to thinking about my old zippo from Vietnam. Anybody who smoked back then...nearly everybody... got an engraved lighter with dates and unit data on it.

I gave up cigarette smoking fifteen years ago and didn't use the lighter then. It had been sitting in a draw for thirty plus years. I decided to see if it would still work. It took me several trys to find a store that still sold cigarette ligher fluid and flints!

Well, new flint and fueled up....damn thing still works. Does need a new hinge pin though. Think zippo will fix it free....just don't want to trust it to the mail.
