There will be a memorial service at St Pauls Cathedral followed by a recpetion at The Guildhall to mark the ending of Operation Banner, 39 years of keeping the peace in Northern Ireland. The peace cost in excess of 1600 service casualties.

I have tickets and the wife, 0A, will be accompanying my lardy self.

Remember and then Enjoy! for those who are here and those who are not.

I did not serve in NI but my career, both civie and military was greatly affected by it in more ways than I care to think of sometimes.

I shall raise a glass and remember................

The day went well, I didnt know if ever peace would come, like many others we just hoped, what I didnt expect was a thank you for it!

The highlight really had to be meeting Baroness Thatcher, poor dear isnt well and she really isnt looking like she has long to go.
