Just rediscovered this photo that was taken in the summer of 1954 at Seoul Airfield whilst waiting to board our luxiourious air-conditioned DC 3 for the flight to Japan and 14 days grorious leave.

Note the near full pack of 'Lucky Strike' behind my left foot, wondered where I'd dropped them until I got the photos back, also note the slim waist

When I was young

Calling in a marking round for a green LT who wasn't sure where he was. He wasn't with me or I'd have told him. I always did my best to keep track of where I was...it was the most important thing an FO had to be aware of at all times.

This was 1970 in Vietnam on the eastern edge of the Plain of Reeds. I'm the skinny guy on the left.

Yup!

I remember spending Christmas 1966 in FamaG and playing a German ship at football on Christmas Morning - we lost BUT the schnapps afterwards made it a great day - well what I can remember of it!

We then sailed for Ashdod in Israel, before it was a town, and spent New Years Day on a beach drinking, swimming and sunbathing. I still have a stone from that beach in my little box of memories
