Spent some time in Verdun during September in which time we visited some of the military cemeteries of WWI. I think this is the appropriate time to post some of the photos i took.

Looking up to the chapel...
The chapel itself, "In Sacred sleep they rest."
Some of the graves in this the largest of American military cemeteries in Europe.
In contrast and only a few miles away the more sombre German military cemetery at Nantillois.
Unusually for German cemeteries, headstones.
The French Cimetiere National Douamont, close to Verdun.
The Ossuary overlooks the cemetery

Thanks Joe. I have spent time there too, especially at Douamont. It leaves a lasting impression on you.
