A friend of mine died at an early age, after returning from Vietnam. Much of the reason he died so early had to have been connected to his combat service with an infantry company in Vietnam. I know of others that did their time in the field and served with honor, but when they came back died early from causes related one way or the other from service in that war.
The sister of one of the guys I knew who died early found out about a ceremony sanctioned by Congress for a marker in Washington DC to honor these men, mostly nameless. Here's a link.

Great Idea
I'm sure we all knew guys who came back so messed up that they didn't have much of a chance for a normal lifespan. Officially they survived the war....but not for long. This is a nice gesture.
