A possible competition of a different sort................
................with no shooting involved BUT identifying photographs of firearms posted by me.
It is something I have been doing for the last 5 years on another forum but I have had enough of it and will finish my involvement at the end of this year.
I was highest scorer in 2012 and won the shield.
The idea is very simple. I post one image a week ( any firearm that can be found on the internet ) and members have to identify it. You can use any form of help - books, search engines, mates, YouTube - anything but you must send the answer in a PM to me as the question will be locked. At the end of each week I will post the answer and the next question. A running total of the right answers will be available to view.The 3 contestants with the most points at the end of the 12 month period will be the winners. Prizes to be arranged.
Here is one to give you an idea...........PM me with the answer and comment on the idea here.
Once the weeks contest is closed I will post the answer, the names of the members who got it right and then you will be able to comment on the weapon if you wish..................

Well, correct answers in from;
blackisler
Archfluffy
Joseclosey
and
Aughnauire who gave me the detail.........It is a Charlton Automatic Rifle in .303 British and was made in New Zealand mainly utilizing Lee-Metford rifles.
Some were also made in Australia using No 1 Mk III* rifles.
So.......I am going to set up a competition and see how it runs.

"Every SATURDAY I will post an image and ask for details about the weapon."
And every Saturday I will guess.....Saturday Night Special.........and be correct every week....
