Okay, I wanted to guess this when I first saw it posted but didn't want to ruin anything.
Is it one of those guns that is for piercing concrete in like maybe a building's foundation during construction?

I think you are referring to a powder-actuated tool (often called a "Hilti gun" or a "Ramset gun" after their manufacturing companies) is a nail gun used in construction and manufacturing to join materials to hard substrates such as steel and concrete.Is it one of those guns that is for piercing concrete in like maybe a building's foundation during construction?
Nope, not it. This one shoots regular .22 Short Rim-Fire just like any other .22 auto.
I'm running out of hints, but the next one is: It was made in 1987 and announced in a press release at that time. Obviously it was never a production item.
