Springfield Sporters

Post by Niner » Sat Feb 20, 2016 10:59 pm

Thinking about the "good old days" of surplus gun buying when I look at this catalog. Springfield Sporters was buying up surplus like it was the junk that nobody wanted. They went out of business as a source of complete arms years ago. At last look the otherwise dissolved business was reconstituted as a parts place. I haven't looked lately but they may still exist. However, the Springfield Sporters surplus gun business went out of business some years ago. I had bought a few things from them. Wish they were still around. Here are some pages from a catalog from about 15 or 16 years ago.

Don't call the number you see to order. If the number works at all it won't get you any of these offerings. The business this catalog represents has long gone away.

I see from a visit to the site that they still had some more or less complete firearms of the C&R variety for sale over the counter. I wonder if the photos they show of the warehouse aren't from back in the day? Particularly the one or two that show what look like stacks of complete rifles. In any case. Hope they do the mail thing again some day.

Have been reading this thread but didn't dawn on me until now. I know they are in business
because I have gotten parts for my 1891 Argentine Mauser from them.........duh......
It was missing the saddle bar sling "swivel" and screws that mount on bottom of stock, just behind the trigger guard.
They sent one that is original and has wear from the sling, it looks great on my rifle.... :D

An on their web site they spell it Mosin Nagent.....instead of Nagant......whatever.
